Ushers Prepare the Church and the Parish
community for worship by setting up the church and greeting & seating the members; distributing worship materials; organizing
processions; taking up the offertory; attending to the needs of the elderly and disabled; responding to
emergencies; distributing the parish bulletin; and maintaining good order in the church. (Open to Men, Women, Youth and Families)
Ministers of Holy Communion
Prepare the
offertory gifts and help set up the sacred vessels for Mass; assist the priest and deacon in distributing Holy Communion during
Mass; clean and store the sacred vessels after Mass. With extra training, they carry Holy Communion to
the home-bound and hospitalized and celebrate Holy Communion services. (Open to Men, Women and Youth over the age of 18)
Lectors
Proclaim
the Word of God during Parish Liturgical Celebrations; carry the Book of Gospels in the Liturgical Procession in the absence
of a Deacon. (Open to Men, Women and Youth)
Altar Servers
Serve with the
Priest and the Deacons at the Altar during Mass and other Liturgical Celebrations. Along with the Ushers,
theirs is the most complex of all the Liturgical Ministries with the most tasks and variations according to the celebration. (Open to youth who have had their 1st Communion and are in
the 4th grade or older)
Sunday Liturgy Coordinators
Arrives early
to Sunday Mass and sets up for Mass; signs in all the other Liturgical Ministers; communicates with the priest if there are
ministers missing. (Open to Men, Women and Youth
over the age of 14)
Music Ministers
Provide the
music leadership for the worshiping community, including instrumental accompaniment, vocalists (Choir and Soloists) and leadership
of congregational singing (Cantors). It is the desire of the parish to greatly expand this ministry by
adding other instrumentalists, significantly enlarging the choir and increasing the vocal repertoire. (Open to Men, Women and Youth)
Sanctuary Society
Attends to the
artistic and aesthetic needs of our Sanctuary by decorating for the various Liturgical Seasons, Holy Days and Special Celebrations
as well as the regular maintenance of the worship space including linens, candles and vestments. (Open to Men, Women and Youth)
Lazarus Committee
Provides hospitality
and assistance to families during funerals by greeting and seating the participants, coordinating the guestbook, providing
for the comfort and caring needs of the family; serving at the altar, helping with the distribution of communion and reading
the Scriptures when needed. (Open to Men, Women
and Youth)
Welcoming Committee Organizes the Sunday
Fellowship after all the Masses on the first Sunday of the month; extends welcome greetings to new parishioners; organizes
special parish welcoming events. (Open to Men, Women and Youth)
